Attraction
Jodhpur is a fairly good
representation of these qualities
Layout:
Jodhpur
isn't nearly as well laid out as Jaipur is.
Winding and narrow streets and an absence of street signs can make
navigation difficult for the outsider. That is why we recommend that
you take a guide or a local person along on your in-Blue City Trips.

Meherangarh Fort
One of the most seen landmarks in the city, it is surrounded
by the Sadar Bazaar, and has a rich
atmosphere, associated in all minds with typical eastern markets. It
teems with life, fragrances, colors, noise. It is clearly discernible
from the magnificent Meherangarh
fort.

Umaid Gardens
The Umaid gardens are well
planned, neatly laid-out and well maintained and a pleasant place for
a stroll. The Sadar Government
Museum is here,
with its collection of sculptures, weaponry, taxidermy and wooden
biplane models. The gardens also contain the zoo and the
library.

Mahamandir Temple: Located at just 2 km
from Jodhpur on the Mandore Road, the Mahamandir Temple is famous for its 84
intricately carved pillars, ornamented with detailed carvings of yogic
postures.
Balsamand Lake and Palace: Located at only 7 km from Jodhpur, the
beautiful Balsamand Palace is the erstwhile summer palace on the embankments
of a serene and calm Balsamand Lake.

Umaid Bhawan Jodhpur is an exquisite building that houses a museum
showcasing the artifacts that date back to the time immemorial. According to
a legend, this place was built during famine in order to provide employment
to the workers.

Girdikot and Sardar Market:
This is popular colorful market located in the heart of the city and
displays array of handicraft luring the buyers towards them. There are many
shops and outlets of Rajasthan Tourism department showcasing the art and
crafts of the region

festival is held in the month of Ashwin (September-October) in Jodhpur, for
